Permission To Recover
Granting ourselves the permission to mend is the foundation of our well-being
In a world where schedules are overloaded, where most of us feel the pressure of achieving success and having it all together, we have forgotten how to give our body what it needs… proper rest and recovery.
In this talk, Alasdair Lane will cover the damaging impact continual stress has on our well-being. Whilst we all need a certain amount of pressure to perform, constant pressure turns into stress. Without sufficient recovery, this can adversely affect our lives and how we look after ourselves, reducing our capacity for creative thinking and good decision making. Giving ourselves permission to recover is the key to breaking this downward spiral and reverse the trend towards kinder, more health-supporting habits.
For 25 years, Alasdair worked in the world of wellbeing, health and human performance in a number of different roles. He started his career as a Physical Training Instructor in the Army and left 9 years later to become a Personal Trainer in London. This experience led him to an opportunity to be the Head of Performance at a number of Professional Football Clubs before setting up his own business as a Well-being & Performance Coach. He has helped his clients to be more productive at work through helping them to develop healthy habits and strategies that would fit their lifestyle.
Despite a change of career direction, Alasdair has a deep passion for well-being and has a genuine interest to help people through sharing his knowledge and experience.
