Philippa Stannard presents an insight into the fundraising work of local charity Style Acre.
Philippa is Head of Fundraising, Marketing and Community Development at Style Acre. With a small team, the fundraising department raise money to fund projects that the charity wouldn’t otherwise be able to deliver, such as a Work Development, enabling people the charity supports to access work experience, as well as specialist equipment when it is needed. The team raise funds for capital projects, as the charity expands its reach activities. In recent years, unrestricted funds have been essential to supplementing day service support as government cuts impact.
With a keen interest in sound, Philippa took a degree in film and television, before becoming a sound engineer in the music industry. Philippa career-changed to the charity sector, working for Freedom from Torture, DEBRA, Autistica and Ufton Court, before joining Style Acre in 2012.
