An inspiring reflection on how I uplifted my life to essentially support impoverished communities in the rural highlands of Nicaragua in central America.
Touching on cultural divides, gender equality, religion and politics however focusing on purpose, social change, international perspective and hope from lessons learned.
I’d like to share the sources of my resilience, anecdotes of my colourful experiences and dwell on what you and I can do every day to become more socially responsible for the developing world.
Janie Boyd, The Synergy Effect
Unexpectedly returning to live in the UK in June 2018 this year, forced out by political turmoil and civil unrest on her doorstep, Janie’s now planning to mentor, be a life coach and business advisor for small enterprises, individuals and organizations, looking to make their business model a success.
In Nicaragua, she created four large social businesses from scratch, that invest their profit and resources for community programmes. The social impact has been tangible, sustained and low cost, focusing on holistic education with a mobile library bus, organic growing projects, burgeoning eco-tourism, micro-finance, emergency aid, employment and training.
