Christmas Wrapping Day
13th October, 2018 @ 10:00 - 15:00| Free
We would like to invite you and your family to join us for our Christmas Wrapping Day to donate and wrap presents for children in Ghana. We’re coming together to make a difference for those children who would otherwise receive nothing for Christmas.
We are running two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with an African Drumming Working at lunchtime.
Participation is free, all we ask is that you bring a small donation of toys, toiletries and/or stationery along with a suggested donation of £5 for shipping. Simply reserve the number of places you need at the time you’d like to come, places are limited.
We will provide refreshments, cake and everything needed to wrap the presents.
Here are some suggestions for presents:
The toys need to be fairly small to keep shipping costs to a minimum and also keep the distribution of toys fair for all the children. Toys should also not need batteries or electricity to function. They need to be in good condition but not necessarily new.
We really hope you will join us and we look forward to meeting your family – partner, children, etc. – and enjoy a day of doing something really worthwhile together.
Annie and Alfons Hanson – The Alfan Foundation
Annie and Alfons together with their son James work hard to make a difference in the lives of children in Ghana. Having grown up and worked as a teacher in Ghana, Alfons knows just how much schools and orphanages are in desperate need of supplies.
In addition to acquiring and distributing school supplies and essential items to 5 schools and 3 orphanages with more in the pipeline. The Alfan Foundation also encourages children in the UK to connect to children in Ghana by donating and wrapping presents for Christmas.
The Alfan Foundation has been part of The Oxfordshire Project’s Scholarship Programme for over 2 years and, during this period, members of The Oxfordshire Project have regularly contributed to this fantastic cause by sending thousands of pens, computers, white boards and many other items.
