Feedback – The fast track to getting better at anything.
We are all familiar with the phrase “Practice Makes Perfect” but is it accurate? Evidence from the field of Neuroscience suggests that a more accurate version would be “Practice Makes Permanent.” Behaviours that we repeat become habitual, and the problem with that is that it holds true whether we are practising helpful or unhelpful behaviours. Feedback is the key to ensuring that we focus on rehearsing the things that make us better. In this talk, Gavin will share some practical ways to help us give and get high-quality behavioural feedback that builds on our strengths to improve our performance, whatever we want to do.
Following a successful career in the Pharmaceutical Industry Gavin decided to escape the corporate rat race in and follow his twin passions of speaking and writing. Today, Inter-activ presenting and influencing offers 1:1 presentation coaching and seminars on a range of public speaking topics including speech writing, dynamic delivery skills and how to avoid death by PowerPoint. Over the years, thanks to his own prolific presentation tips blog, Gavin’s business has also diversified into the world of digital content creation and copywriting.
